abstract:
St.Aim is a 30 minutes technopera in three grachts with
one bass singer performing with papercut and joystick microactors. The
sound is to be bodily and computer created according to the Karlheinz
Stockhausen's Licht three formulas reworking. It must be presented on
a Friday.
"I use tecnology in order to hate
it more properly. I make technology look ridiculous" Nam Jun Paik
second gracht:
[Takes the mask off and tears it to pieces, still there
is a labyrinth with a city's map and a syringe mask underneath the other];
5'00"<mimetically>{if there is a crow "Ever More!"}{if
there is a albatroz "Gamoverhead!"} "From then I never
understood the machines anymore, I felt them." [roll a cigarette];
5'25"<joyfully while smoking> "Months I passed in between
St. Aim hacking looks and the alleys' searching for new technologies
for my everhungry ears until I finally found myself sleeping under the
same bridge with Junxie and had lost all my luggage.";
6'01"<utmostly driven> "A gracht is not a river nor
a sea. Why do we take all this weight of technics on our shoulders?
We need to get in contact - said he. We need to touch and in here there's
not such. The more I take I learn to listen, the more I lack hearing.
And since even a cyborg like you is here, perhaps we can get together
and aim the aim.";
6'40"<furiously stoned> "A cyborg!? Me?! A cyborg? No!
Not anymore - screamed I meanwhile following him crawling under my mechatronical
shell.";
7'03"<tediously> "Then he went to St. Aim, the richest
and poorer place inside our hearts and stopped in front of the most
expensive brothel in the white light district - the toy shop and that's
where he saw her, that window framed apple headed maiden, the last closed
code virgin.";
8'00"<mocking love song> "Lisa, Lisa... she was only
one desire.";
8'24"<passionatelly crying> "An opera character never
feels love, but I can asure I've seen it... Junxie's body loosing all
the apparatus he took years stoling, buying, cheating to acquire...
all of them falling to the ground as he became naked to the ears of
that prostitute and the laughs of the browel. I quickly got in the fighting
with the crowd that gathered to get those shiny glimpses of projects
and goods.";
9'10"<tenderly> "But I just stoped to watch them...
I had cried and had to just stop and watch them... The crowd stole my
drugs, I felt the cold turkey of my loneliness... I just heard their
hearts in sync beating." [beat both hands on the chests in a 10/4
rythm];
10'00"<seriously spoken> "And I my train passed in the
middle of the street between me and them... ... In a lapse I remebered
this world we're in, the one outside the opera, the theater and the
music {talks about the sounds happing in the here-now of the performance}
and seduced by reality I took the train...".

gracht finale:
[opens the STEIM front door and ask everyone to come
in the stairway hall, then close the door, deactivate the alarm and
go upstairs meanwhile removes the mask],{there must have no light turned
on in there};
10'22"<darkly> "Today I've received a letter from the
Madre Tsma Necrologium with the drawing of door, which I opened and
released me inside this body in the middle of you all, Children of Lucifer...
In this letter as well were the bodies of Junxie & Lisa";[turns
around and presses the green button that opens the first floor door
while walks down the stairs showing the letter];
10'44"<profoundly> "Oh yes I almost forgot... you have
the spectators role, so your part is to only hear your own hearings"
[do not open the studios access door in the meantime than go upstairs
again];
11'06"<sadisticly> "Spectators only want to see the
dead body" [presses the green button] "I will show you the
dead body!" [goes slowly downs the stairs and if not allowed to
reach it again, repeat the last sentence]... "The dead body"...
"Interactivity is cleasing our hands in others' blood";
12'00"<bored but anxious> "Now you are the characters
on the opera and I'm but the only spectator, throughout making kynetic
questions to the joystick pathologists may we know what happened to
them...":
the pathology room:
Candle lighted, the scenery is made of a miniature St.Aim
made of papercut in the middle of the room, inside it there is a table
with joysticks. One spectator seat only on which The Opera Singer will
sit with a microphone. Different types of moves with the controllers,
arise in different live singing effects at the same time that triggering
other prerecorded singing voices and bodillysounds that will give more
poethic information on the death of the lovers and where are their dead
bodies. As for example, waving the wii controller downwards the mayor
whipping Junxie while he sings about the onions skins.
